Default Bucks County Permit Process

I'm new to the site and did a pretty thorough search to see if anyone posted about their experiences getting a carry permit in Bucks. I am looking to apply for mine in the near future. I really didn't find anything, so I figured I'd post and ask for some responses. Thanks.

As long as your PICS comes back clean, it's a pretty painless process. I was able to get my LTCF over lunch. As long as you follow the directions on the county website you shouldn't have any problems. See: http://www.buckscounty.org/governmen...onsPermit.aspx

Thanks for the reply. I read that page on the website and know what I have to do to actually apply. I've also read things about the sheriff's department calling people's employers, etc. I am wondering about that kind of thing and whether or not it's an issue in this county, as well as any other things I might not be aware of. IMHO, it's none of my employer's bleeping business let alone the kind of response it would probably generate in today's world.

I can only speek to my experience, but I know that neither my employer or references were called.

I received my Bucks permit in 3 days, no employer or personal references were contacted. It was pretty painless, as they took the picture and everything right there at the counter.

Thanks for the replies! I had heard rumors that the current sheriff was sort of an "anti" and had some concerns.

I don't think it took any more then 3 or 4 days to get my permit either. And no one was called either.

Being a Permanent Resident seems to cause people more issues then it should, and I was a little concerned about applying but it was easy and no issues.

Since PA is a " shall issue " state it doesn't matter if any given sherrif is anti. If you pass the test he has no choice but to issue.

Understood. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it won't be too bad compared to some of the other counties.
