Default Renewing a Chester Cnty issued permit in Montgomery

I moved about a year ago and my LTCF will expire in 6 months. Is there anything special I need to do, since I moved from Chester County to Montgomery?

I'm guessing I'll be headed to the Montgomery Courthouse in Norristown?

Nothing special. You're not really renewing you LTCF, you're applying for a new one, again. You have to go through the same "process" every time.

I'm reapplying? Why, because of the different county? I don't remember reapplying in Chester County, whenever my permit ran out. Am I just having a memory lapse?

Essentially, applying, reapplying and renewing are the same thing. The same form is used, the only difference being which box is checked at the top of the form.

Thanks. I did find it on the Sherrif's web site. And there is one difference. If you are a new applicant, you must have 2 references. Not a big deal, but what I'm wondering is do they consider me a new applicant because I've never had a permit in Montgomery County? I'll call the department tomorrow.
