Default What exactly is the LTCF?

I know it stands for License To Carry Firearm. Is it just another name for CCW? One of the reasons I am getting a CC is to carry when I go into Philly to visit friends who can only afford to live in the slums surrounding Temple University. I noticed the law states to carry in a City of the First Class (philly) you need the LTCF. so what im asking is are they the same, or as a pa resident do i need to apply for 2 different types of concealed carrying permits? thanks in advance!!

in Pa there is no CCW its not a permit it Is a license therefore it is called a LTCF,
not just to conceal but to carry in general ( like to a city of the first class ) openly or concealed .

i know someone else can answer better than i can, but i'm here now and bored lol hope it helps though

IANAL but 4XLT covered it pretty well...

LTCF basically allows you to carry concealed; carry open or concealed in a city of the first class (Philadelphia); carry in a vehicle (loaded); and to carry during periods of declared emergencies.

I think that wraps it up in total.

Others can feel free to add if I skipped anything.
The last reason is probably the most important one, with the vehicle exception following as next important as Open Carry is not illegal unless an emergency is declared (then you need a license to carry at all).

Caveat: be sure to know the definition of firearms covered in the statute(s).

Welcome. They covered it pretty well. I see you are from Monroe. You need to go to the courthouse in Stroudsburg, go to the sheriffs office and pick up your application. You will need :

2- references who are not related, and are full time county residents. Names, addresses, and phone #'s.

Three months of recent utility bills.

Your most recent local tax form from berkhiemer, or a letter from them stating that you are on their rolls.

$16 Cash.

If you bring those, you can fill it out there and hand it in.

Do not sign it until they tell you to.

Hope that helps

BTW it doesn't say how old you are. You need to be at least 21 to apply....

I always refer to CCW as Concealed Carry Weapon even though a gun is only a weapon if the user chooses to make it a weapon...

The LTCF also allows you to carry within 1000 feet of a school, per the illegal Federal Gun-Free School Zones Act.

LTCF is just that a liscense to carry a firearm. You do not need 2 different permits in Pa as in someother states.

I just renewed mine and I didn't need anything besides my photos, references and fee. It's more than $16 now.

Utility bills?

Tax forms?

Nah, sound like something the Socialist Peoples Republic of New Jersey would require.

Not here.

What do utility bills and tax forms have to do with one's fitness to qualify for an LTCF?

I am 22. I've got the application for my LTCF at home, its all filled out and unsigned. I just need to resolve the Berkheimers requirement. My situation is my mother handles my taxes each year(i need to start doing it myself) and i told her about the Berkheimer requirement and that I need proof we've been paying it. She said she never bothered filling out the 1% tax because it was automatically taken out of our paychecks so she never felt it necessary. Perhaps it was taken out for her, she works for the state government, i dont..
I think its a rediculous requirement, i've lived in monroe country since i was 5 years old. If they need a stupid tax paper to prove i've lived here i could just add 30 additional references to my application. i might give them a call this week and ask them to waive the stupid berkheimers.
