It's all about liability.
The cold fact is that if the driver is killed by a criminal, that's an intervening criminal act that the company is probably NOT responsible for, so no lawsuit. Even if there were any liability, it may be pre-empted by workers' comp laws. If the driver kills a bad guy, or a bystander, then the driver is the agent of the company, and the company has vicarious liability to the deceased's estate. In other words, the company would rather have the driver killed, than run the risk of him killing a stranger, because it saves the company money. Every employer that forbids weapons for employees has made that decision. You as an employee are expendable, but criminals can sue. |

Dunno what the Fed Gun Permit is, but he was telling me it allows him to carry wherever he wants, even in airports, ect.. maybe he was bsing
