There seems to be allot of praise for the woolrich line of tactical clothing.
http://www.woolrichelite.com/ I personally find most of the vests too heavy and hot. The lightest one I've found is made by royal robbins. RR is the parent company of 5.11 IIRC. http://www.royalrobbins.com/product_...Cat_ID=13&sp=N They're also available in tan and olive through vendors who carry the RR line. The only problem with this vest is that it is not very long and may not completely conceal an OWB holster. No problem with IWB's.

+1 there. Its good for a shooting/hunting thing, but I wouldn't call it a concealed carry thing. It's so conspicuous that you might as well wear a Concealed Carry Badge along with it.

very good point.
I give a hard, but surrepititious study to anyone wearing a safari/camera type vest, same with anyone wearing a FAGbag, or waist pack, since thats such a common place to carry. its pretty easy to spot if you know what you look for, too many folks dont know how to carry concealed properly, and they either have a heavy hip pack, or thier clothes clearly print thier carry piece. a common sense way of dressing is often enough to hide a significant size firearm for me...of course, it helps being 6'4" tall, and weighing about 265..i'm a big guy, I can hide a big gun pretty comfortably ![]() a nice pair of jeans, and a polo type shirt is fine, I carry IWB most of the time. give me a regular coat, i can hide a pretty good size rifle too

Another place to look for concealed clothing is magills.com
I'm gonna start lifting, drop 50 pounds and buy the t-shirt. Maybe try to get a two'fer sale or something. |

For me, I've found that the women's denim vest from Cabelas works great! (of course, I'm a girl, so it's a good fit. You guys might look funny in it) It has hidden, inside pockets (one on either side, so being a lefty isn't a problem), the outside pockets are big enough to fit a small handgun into, and I can wear it with skirts (Yeah right...like that's going to happen if I can avoid it) or jeans, carry IWB, or OWB, and it is long enough to provide "coverage", and has enough "heft" that it will NOT "print" and give me away. I love it, because it gives me lots of carry options, and doesn't LOOK like a CC vest.

I don't have a vest other than an old photographers vest that i wear to IDPA and a Carhart one I wear for work.
I don't think that people are "made" as much as you think. I have actually dropped a Glock out of a worn fanny pack, put it back in front of a few people and didn't seem to get much more than a quick glance. Perhaps they are made or scrutinized by those of us who are firearms active but not the general public. If LEO check you out , so what? There, I think I've talked myself into getting one. 27hand

I've been using the photo-journalist vests for the last 20 years. I worked in a plain clothes anti-crime unit buying drugs and "working" hooker details, wearing one of these so called "shoot me first vests". I've heard the above comment from numerous people and will call b.s., but hey thats just my .02 cents worth.
