you could pick up an uncle mikes nylon IWB for aroudn $10 to see if IWB will work for you at all. if it does and you want to upgrade holsters, you have only "wasted" $10.
better than spending $50+ on a holster only to find out IWB won't work. and, i actually find my uncle mike's to be the most comfortable and concealable IWB holster i've tried (though they do have their shortcomings). |

Just because a crappy IWB won't work doesn't mean an IWB won't work.

I ordered one of these. I have read nothing but good stuff about them. If you go to XDtalk.com, they all rant about this holster. There are a couple guys on here that have them and all seem to really like them.

Crossbreed supertuck for my Ruger. It is very comforable and conceals easily!

i agree that these holsters have other shortcomings...some real, some mainly imagined, imho...but as far as comfort and concealability goes, they are hard to beat. any other IWB holster is going to be bigger and more rigid...and therefore prolly less comfortable. any other IWB holster is also most likely going to position the grip of the gun farther above the belt...and therefore prolly be less concealable. so, while i won't argue with you that other holsters are better for retention, ease/quickness of draw, reholstering, etc., and trying an UM's won't give you any feedback on these factors, i still maintain that if you cannot conceal well with an UM's you are prolly not going to be able to conceal well with any IWB holster. and, if you can't make IWB comfortable with an UM's, you are prolly not going to be able to make any other IWB holster comfortable. just my 2 cents. ymmv, of course. |

Similar to the cross breed, I just ordered from http://www.comp-tac.com/ their Minotaur MTAC Holster, the spartan is a cheaper version. It's supposed to take a week to make, so I should get it late this week early next, and I can let you know how it feels (if you're interested).

Don Hume. I have 1 for my glock 33, and I love it! Less than $50.00 new from the factory.

Ditto on the Don Hume.
Their M715TB is IWB and fits the XD .45. They're running about 6-8 weeks behind though so if you want it order it now. The only thing I don't like about it is it's a clip on and I'd prefer loops. The clip on is often handy though. Galco has an OWB that fits the XD .45. The Fletch. In stock. Wear a slightly oversized untucked shirt and nobody knows what you've got. |
