Default Applied this afternoon for my LTCF in Lehigh Co.

With all the difficulties with the sheriffs in other towns I hope the one in Lehigh doesn't give me a hard time. I dont really see that happening as I have only been here two months, and I have not had so much as a traffic ticket on my record here or in CA. I must say the process is a lot less complicated then back in CA. The lady at the desk said they have 45 days to approve it. I am looking forward to having it! I will definitely feel safer carrying.

Wish me luck!

I got mine in Lehigh County in about 30 days that was last year. Should have no problems with the process.

Hi, Newbie here. Have enjoyed reading the forums. This is my first post.

I want to clarify something. Are you all saying it took you WEEKS to receive your PA license to carry firearms permit after applying for it? I want to make sure because it only took 20 minutes to get mine in McKean County. The Sheriff called to make the background check while I waited. The only ID required was my driver's license. My references were all from out of state.

I am having a difficult time accounting for the differences in our experience with the process. I had no idea it was so arduous (relatively speaking) elsewhere in PA. What gives?

Becky

Yes. Weeks. Because some sheriffs like to make their constituents sweat. And are dicks.

every county is different here in PA. some are instant, some take over the 45days legal limit on a consistant basis, hell some require an interview wth the sheriff. Yes, it's odd but its how it is.
