Thanks guys. I thought as much. The letter goes on to spout more of the sheriff's personal opinion regarding firearm carry. It all just seems a bit silly to me. I mean I was lucky enough to get the letter while I was on vacation and could make it to the courthouse but normally I work Monday - Friday and getting there during their hours would be tough and all along they could have just mailed it to me. Great public service huh?

The DELCO Sheriff's Office seems makes up the rules as they go, it is my opinion that they don't like to issue a LTCF at all and as such makes it as difficult a process as they can.

I've talked with a fella at the PA AG's office and was told the AG has no jurisdiction to force the sheriff to comply with the law as written.

I rather pick it up in person.
When I went to get my LTC at Delaware County Court House
The lady had misspelled my name put my weight for my height and my height as
my weight. Also for reason had hunting and fishing instead of Self Defense.
At least I was their to proof check and had her make me a new card. I would hate
to get it in the mail only have to return to the court house for a new one.

My Two Cents
Mike

Bucks County does it in person. The whole thing is 20 minutes including the 'picture cool time'

Centre County mails them for signature, then you mail back signed copies (2) and they sign and send you 1 copy back and smaller copy thats laminated. (I had 1 before)

I live in Perry County and they called me when it was ready. I had to go to the courthouse to pick it up.

They asked for my photo but never put it on my license. I also had them laminate it for me and all they did was fold it in half and then laminate it, so you have to flip it over to see the rest of the info.

Same here. Turned in my app, passed the background check, paid the money, took pic, got license. About 15 minutes total.

Indiana County, arrived in the mail. No letter, no pamphlet, just the plastic LTCF. If I remember, it took about five weeks.
