Is there any legal requirement to physically carry your LTCF with you? I know it would be a hassle if you don't have it but are you legally obligated to carry it 24/7? Once it is issued you have it don't you? And if there are any questions the locals are going to call your Sheriff anyway.

§ 6122. Proof of license and exception.
(a) General rule.--When carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle, an individual licensed to carry a firearm shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce the license for inspection. Failure to produce such license either at the time of arrest or at the preliminary hearing shall create a rebuttable presumption of nonlicensure. (b) Exception.--An individual carrying a firearm on or about his person or in a vehicle and claiming an exception under section 6106(b) (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license) shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce satisfactory evidence of qualification for exception. (Dec. 19, 1988, P.L.1275, No.158, eff. 180 days; Apr. 22, 1997, P.L.73, No.5, eff. 60 days) 1997 Amendment. Act 5 amended subsec. (a). 1988 Amendment. Act 158 added section 6122. |

It's in back of my Social Security card and next to my driver's license. What's the problem? From experience, though, I've found that it's rarely requested. (Maybe after Hillary returns to the White House!) A couple of years ago I was riding in another shooter's vehicle when we were stopped by a PA state trooper. Plainly visible in the rear of the SUV were numerous: assault rifles, weapon cases, and ammunition boxes.
I was licensed to carry; the driver was not. Both of us were packing. (Yes, I've warned him about this before; but, he won't listen!) During the 1/2 hour it took for that trooper to write him up for an expired registration, and I don't remember what else, not a word was said about that arsenal behind the driver's seat! The trooper clearly saw the rifles; he, also, saw the NRA Instructor's patch on my shoulder. After he left, I remarked; 'I think you were very lucky; he looked at those guns, several times, and didn't say anything.' On a guess I think my patch stopped him from thoroughly checking us out, the way he otherwise might have. If that trooper had asked one simple question he would have written out, yet, another summons! Then there was the time I went to a local pizza parlor for lunch. As I walked up to the counter I suddenly realized that the entire restaurant was full of PA state troopers and a class of cadets. They were waiting for their food; and, like most bored cops, every single one of them was looking me up and down from head to toe. Yeah, I was packing and a rather large pistol, too! I'm sure that, at least, several sets of eyes in that room had to recognize the cut of my shirt. Absolutely nobody questioned me, though. I think you've got to look like, 'trouble'; and I, also, think that people who use holsters tend to get a, 'free pass'!

I also believe someone packing wothout a permit would not go around that many cops.

Caught me in, 'Condition White'!
I was 12 or 15 feet into the room before I realized they were there. I don't think turning around and quickly running for the door would have worked - Do you? (How ya been! That was a good shoot at the strip mines.)

I've made three color copies of my LTCF and laminated them too. I keep one within driver's reach in both of my vehicles, and one in my Camelbak which I always have while out stomping around in the woods. The 'real' license stays in my wallet, which is with me if I'm driving, but probably not on my person, and maybe not within my reach.
