You sir are damn good with that SKS, after the first 2 stages I honestly knew what your scores were going to be before walking up to the targets! Zero! Zero! Zero! :-)

I am in the same boat with you. Now my fat ass has a reason to lose some weight so I can move faster and burn off the winter fat. I had a blast so much I can't wait until next month. What a great group of guys.

This was my second event. I scored last in the first one and 37th in this one. Not exactly setting the world on fire with my scores.

For me, the course is a learning experience. It more closely resembles a potential self defense scenario than shooting bullseyes at 100 yds.

Although it is virtually impossible to completely simulate a self defense scenario (at least I don't want to practice in a scenario the targets are shooting back at me), the various targets at various distances - some with simulated cover, requiring the use of 3 different weapons, all with the additional pressure of a stop watch running, is definitely improving my self defense skills.

These contests also tend to reaffirm that my equipment would be up to the task if I should have to defend myself - no FTF's, no FTE's, with any of the equipment. Now if I can just get the guy shooting the equipment to perform as well as the equipment did......LOL

the last sentence is a very good and valuable point. folks think they need to spend tons of dough on equipment but with the most basic stuff , most shooters never realize the full potential of it.

By the way. I've had that rifle for about 4 years now. I think Saturday was the 5th time I've shot is since I bought it. Hell, I just got those peep sights mounted last week and sighted in on Friday. That was quite literally a trial by fire for those sights.


I must say this "I LOVE MY TECH-SIGHTS"!



One more thing. How long does it take for the scores with times to be posted on the Enks website? I'm pretty sure I only had 17 penalty seconds but I want to be sure. I'd like to see how I rated against the rest of the field in penalty seconds since there wasn't much contest on raw time .

it varies in terms of how long till the scores are posted, sometimes monday evening other times tuesday or wednesday.
