Kaos,

I have the Howard Leight muffs. I like them for pistol shooting, they could work alright for rifle in the cappacity you seek but they dont offer me a good enough cheekweld for CMP. I use plugs for CMP.

You can check them out at the next group shoot if your there.

sounds like you have figured out something that will work as far as having the carbine at the ready.

All I would add (cause I think you do have a light mounted already) is that instead of handing off anything to your wife she should know her role. She is your partner, in more ways than one, she should be an asset. Also, having a plan, and knowing her role will give her something to do instead of freaking out. Now you guys need to work on communication during an emergency

great point shawn.

keeping people busy/focused is a good way to keep them from freaking out.

Reinforcing your doors isn't too difficult. Anyone know how to prevent (or severely slow down) window entry?
I think it may have been Unloved, or maybe LRT that suggested cut to size dowel rods (maybe 3/4in diameter) to wedge in to your window frames, and these:

This will make it nearly impossible to slide open the window, whille at the same time detecting a break. After reading that post, I gave it a try. Thanks for the idea, rep is owed when ya come forward

lol, maybe I left crucial info out or you missed a thread from about 3 months back. For the time being we have another addition in our bedroom that requires special attention/handling:

Id love to have her move with me, but staying with the baby is her priority in the event of anything. She cant carry our 6 year old in the case of a fire or some other emergency so thats all on me. Her role is to take care of the baby...as they say don't get between mama bear and her cubs :P
