Sounds completely normal to me. If you catch me during certain cycles of sleep I'll stand up in bed and ask what's wrong are you alright get the nod go back to bed and not really remember unless my gf tells me about it in the am (usually laughing her head off). I've been awaken by soda pop bottles poping while I'm alone and I'll clear the house just in case and then bearly recall it in the am. You might want to investigate PTSD just in case but what you've laid out here seems completly normal. Your wife set off the alarm and you insticivly reacted properly until you had enough time to discover the cause. Sleep tight and unless you really think you've done something potetially dangerous under the circumstance don't worry about it. You're a human being not equiped with spidey senses like most people here believe they posses!

Oh and get your sleeping disorder taken care of. you can't live an optimal life taking sleeping pills often. They can be used as an aid occasionally but otherwise they don't really help. You need a more effective sleeping solution. Deal with whatever miserable things are bothering you that are preventing sleep. Pot meet kettle

At least you didn't call in an indirect artillery fire mission on your front yard, right?
RIGHT?! ![]() Just one question: did you wind up on the same Farm that Mack Bolan did? On a serious note, if you have sufficient "muscle memory" training, certain reactions to stimuli are pretty much automatic in given situations. ETA: Just a thought, but you might want to think about using the same ID on multiple boards and then cross-posting this. Not everyone in your circle might be comfortable with your reactions and possible future recurrences. http://www.whenshtf.com/showthread.php?t=20093 http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=478532 Last edited by King 5.45; October 4th, 2009 at 01:56 AM. Thanks man , It's good to hear from people that KNOW what they're talking about. Sometimes you just need to get that "reinforcement" as far as the OFF and on on lunesta. I've been working my @$$ off in the gym and have been working like crazy and honestly I was DEAD tired. My body normally reacts to whatever I put in it , but since I haven't taken the lunesta since May I think that had something to do with it because I no longer halve a tolerance to it.

Train the family not to act like idiots.
Why would they try to shout you awake? Do they also suddenly point and scream at the road ahead while you're driving? Appropriate levels of emotion are sort of important in a family. It's normal to take some of your cues from the people around you. If they yell, you can presume that there's something worth yelling about. If they cry, either something bad has happened, or she's a woman and you need to hide in the closet for a couple of days until the hormones stabilize. But you can be forgiven for reacting to being awakened badly, then interpreting explosions as being "something possibly bad". Tell the family that you'd appreciate being woken up by gently shaking your foot, or calmly saying your name. They shouldn't pull fire alarms unless there's a fire, they shouldn't call 911 unless there's an emergency, and they shouldn't wake up the home security point man in crisis mode.

Possible serious side effects of LUNESTA include:
•getting out of bed while not being fully awake and doing an activity you do not know you are doing. (To learn more, read the LUNESTA Medication Guide). •abnormal thoughts and behavior. Symptoms include more outgoing or aggressive behavior than normal, confusion, agitation, hallucinations, worsening of depression, and suicidal thoughts or actions. •memory loss •anxiety You need to tell the doctor who prescribed Lunesta about this. Until you do it might be a good idea to lock up your guns and give your wife the key. You probably shouldn't be handling guns while taking this drug. |

I know 2 people that have went to sleep centers, My Girl, has Narcolepzy..(spell check) One of my friends has to use a clip on mast to sleep, he wasn't getting good sleep at all, both had memory loss issues during the day before getting the sleep thing done. Yes, Give your wife your key. And no on the douchebag.. If you would have ran out in the yard and killed the neighbors kid that had that sparkler in his hand, yes, Douche away. Good luck..

I'll try to make this as short as possible. My dad was in WWII and Korea, he came home wounded from the latter, shot twice. We, as his children where told to NEVER touch my father to wake him up. To NEVER yell or even use a loud voice to wake him up because the result would be him hitting/hurting us via instinct. This is something that can not be "turned off", this is something that is now a part of you and the people around you need to realize that. If I at the young age of 4 could comprehend this so can your family, especially now that they have seen your reaction to a conceived threat. So in my eyes what you did was a very normal reaction given your history.
