So why don't you add an ambi safety?

not familiar with aftermarket mods. how much would an ambi cost including gunsmith fees to do it?

would a smith at bass pro or gander mountain be able to do it??

They should be able to do it. I take my 1911s to EGW in Quakertown, they charge about $150, I'm not sure if that includes the part.

Installation isn't really all that hard, I put a few on my Paras and it was pretty damn easy.

You can get good Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, or Ed Brown ambi safetys on Ebay for about $50.

You could also let Springfield do the work. I send my GI back to them to customize a smidge and I thought it was very fast and reasonable.

I'm confused... according to Springfield's webiste, the "Loaded" model is supposed to come with the ambidextrous thumb safety.

The older loaded models did not.
