Thanks for your responses!
My neighbors don't know me at all, and I prefer it that way (I wear a viking helmet while mowing the lawn in hopes that the neighbors will think I'm nuts and leave me alone). The residency requirement is dumb, and I'm not so sure it's legal. I live right by the border of Chester and Berks, work in Berks, and everyone I know (besides family) lives in Berks. They can't deny you a LTCF for not knowing anyone in your own county. Being anti-social isn't a disqualifying offense under the law. If they hassle you though, just do as I did, ask for their phone book and just put someone down. They don't even call your references (atleast they didn't call mine).

It doesn't seem lawful they can make you put a county reference, it is for the state of PA so you should put anyone down who lives in the state. That is why I am not in politics.....things just don't pass the common sense test!

Thumbs up Re: Chester County Permit now $46

Welcome to the board. The Sheriff is a friend and will not be unreasonable or otherwise give you a bag. List people who know you, and you should be fine. If you have a problem send me a PM and I will correct the situation.

Go back and re-read this thread. Specifically, posts #4 and #40 should have all the information you need.

take the 30 bypass to exton, get off in exton go right (south) on 100 take exit on right to west chester that is high street... once you get into town it will be the big courthouse looking building on your right at the corner of market and high... you apply at the sheriffs office inside this building...
