Thanks. I only have 6 more days until their 45 days are up, so I guess I'll just sit tight for now. I hate waiting though.

Got some good news today. Since today marks 45 days since I submitted my application, and still no permit, I decided to call the Sheriff's office and ask about it. The officer was very friendly and told me I should receive it in 3-4 days.

It finally arrived today! It's been 49 days since I turned in my application, and the issue date on the license is April 5th (so I was approved over a month ago, but am just now getting it ), but atleast I have it now.

I would rank Chester County #2 behind Philadelphia in making it a pain to get your permit if this all turns out to be true when I go for my renewal in the near future.
Btw, it turned out a lot better than they made it sound over the phone. They were very courteous in person and it only took a few minutes at the office and exactly two weeks for my permit to be issued. I went on Friday 2/23 and the issue date on my permit was Friday 3/9. I received it in the mail on March 15. So, it took a little under 3 weeks for the whole process. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it is slightly annoying after living in Potter County and being able to leave with the permit on the same day that you apply.

Also, fwiw, I used Chester County references as instructed, and neither of them were contacted.

Awesome. I can't wait.

And the lady at the Sheriffs office was nice, helpful and quick. Took me less than 5 minutes (pre-printed and completed form) and I was back out of the door.

I was kinda surprised there weren't any fingerprints taken.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how the process goes. Hoepfully being born outside of a state (Puerto Rico) doesn't hurt things.
