When I went out last week the road was fairly potholed but not rutted. If you have a 4WD you shouldn't have any problems; there was even a guy down there in a Prius. If he could make it I'm sure you won't have any problems.

its not so much about having 4wd... the last time i went down that road it destroyed my suspension.... and im not risking my car to go to the range because i dont have much money to fix anything wrong with my car....

I was up there a couple weeks ago, and the Gatesburg entrance was passable for me. And I drive a compact. I'd avoid the Grays Woods entrance if you are worried about suspension issues.

I am certainly up for a shoot. My Sigs are definitely feeling under-appreciated right now. I just don't if the range is open yet on the weekends...or when.

They have a dedicated Rifle range, and a dedicated Pistol range, as well as 2 Aux ranges. No knock downs, but no membership fees either (SGL Public range). I'm not sure what the hours of operation are for this season, I think the dedicated ranges are still closed on the weekends. Anyone else have updated info?

Until Further notice... Summer range hours are M-F 8a-4p

The word is the Game Commission has cut back funding alot to the public ranges. So dont expect the road to be fixed anymore this year...

I went out there this evening. I took the Gatesburg Rd entrance and it was not bad. I don't care to subject my car to the beating the other road subjects it to.
