Hey! If you have been living in a hole or just haven't watched or read the news.
http://www.centredaily.com/news/local/story/288481.html From the CDT time to lock and load. Be safe everyone! I'm in FL so I am already on high alert! Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 Cambria County homicide suspect spotted in State College Alleged accomplice taken into custody By Sara Ganim - sganim@centredaily.com A suspected murderer — possibly still armed — is on the loose in State College, police say. Antonio Lorenzio Winkleman, wanted in Cambria County for shooting and killing 51-year-old Scott Ickes with a handgun around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, was identified at the Super 8 Motel, 1663 S. Atherton St., but fled through a window when police arrived at his room, State College Police Lt. Dana Leonard said Thursday night. Police took into custody his co-defendant, Heather Head, who was also wanted by Adams Township police between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Thursday at the motel, Leonard said. After making “contact” with Head, Winkleman escaped through the hotel room window and is believed to be on foot near Branch Road and Atherton Street. Winkleman is described as a light-skinned black man, 5 foot 8 inches, 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, sweatpants, Timberland boots and no hat. He may have a long-sleeved gray shirt under his jacket. He is considered to be extremely dangerous and possibly armed. Advertisement He is not believed to have access to a car, police said. A reverse calling system is being used to notify residences and businesses “within reasonable distance of Branch Road and Atherton Street,” Leonard said. “The fugitive ... is at large, and at this time we still believe he’s at the vicinity of Branch Road and South Atherton,” he said. Citizens are asked to report any sightings to the Centre County 911 center. Police urge people not to approach Winkleman. Sara Ganim can be reached at 231-4616.

Because that's where us lowly peons who live on Penn State's uber-safe campus have to keep our weapons, in order to not run afoul of the "gun free zone" policy. Personally, I am shocked that they even considered the possibility of an armed criminal being in Atherton Hall... after all, suspected murderers are sure to obey rules that say "no guns", right?

Theres only about 45 officers for the entire campus as well and to top it off they help out with downtown State College as well since it is so large.... Yea its not all that safe the chances of a police officer being remotely near you on campus is pretty small.
That being said keeping it in the police lock up is probably the smartest thing to do especially if your roommate or someone else on your floor could possibly see it. Thats why i chose never to live on campus.

My wife and I were in town seeing a movie when this was going on. A friend of mine who works for one of the twp. offices, and gets reverse 911 calls when stuff like this happens, called us. She asked are you guys in town, because the police are searching for a murder suspect. My wife kinda laughs and says thanks for the heads up, we were on the way home, but I think were covered.
I have been carrying since I turned 21, my wife has never had a problem with it. She has never said too much one way or the other although, she does love to go out and target shoot with me. Recently with all the shootings going on around the country she has been asking me more and more questions about my CCW permit, I think we may be going to get hers soon.
