The policy makes two exceptions: carrying weapons on and off campus (since they're stored in the campus police station) and for class/academic use. My understanding is that you have to get some sort of signature from a university administrator to be able to cart around a bow/arrow or firearm with the intention of going to some academic function. I imagine that's how it works for rifle club, but shamefully I've never attended.

We have a rifle club? Where are they hiding at? I mean if I was a rifle club I think trying to recuit people for you club from the "Aggies" might be a pretty good idea since most of us are a bunch of critter shooting hicks...

The GPGC used to host many of the university shoots, I dont think you have a specific range, but Yes, each university has a gun "club" or group that does extra cur activities in shooting. If the club is not running, get it moving, there are many gun clubs out there that will discount you range time to get your business.

Most of the students that I seen at GPGC where into skeet, no wonder I liked being with them

Last weekend they actually had a "learn riflery" event for HUB LateNight, but I didn't find out about it until too late--I was seriously annoyed. I need to participate sometime.

So I'm not going to lie I wore my holster on Friday, right past Old Main, the HUB and in the creamery, shirt was tucked in and I wasn't wearing a coat or sweatshirt. Even made sure the shirt had a "decked out" saiga-12 across the back in an attempt to get people to look.

Not a single word was said to me...apperently I'm scary looking

Does anyone know if this is going to happen again during the spring semester?? I missed it in the fall and would like to participate if it happens again.

If you feel strongly about the issue, no reason you can't regularly wear your empty holster as an ongoing statement, even with a further formal "demonstration".

Just my opinion.

Hmm... valid point. I'd have to get myself an OWB holster first, though.

I haven't heard anything about a protest this semester, but Students for Concealed Carry on Campus has a facebook group that you might be interested in; updates get posted there pretty frequently.
