ByblosHex,
Where in the proposed Range Rules do you see "evident concealed carry" is prohibited? In my printed copy of the proposed rules, the closest thing that I can see to "evident concealed carry" is on page three of the proposed range rules number 2, " No unconcealed firearms shall be in evidence. No open carry permitted." Am I missing something? My understanding of this rule is that if the firearm is covered by a shirt, jacket, vest etc... it is considered concealed. By using the word "unconcealed" I believe that to mean uncovered, out in the open. |

ByblosHex,
I would echo what Rugerman42 stated in that I would strongly encourage you to make you feelings known at the next meeting. As the rules stand now, they are proposed and not yet adopted. The proposed Bylaws and Rules are open for discusion and have to be voted on by the membership. You will have the opportunity to voice your opinion and perhaps change some minds/perspective. Personally, I have never open carried, except on the firing line, and probably never will open carry. But, and this is important, I DON'T feel personally that I have the right to impose my reluctance to open carry on others. The sight of an unconcealed holstered gun on someone's belt does not bother me in the least. |

I have a question about Conestoga... why do they only allow one to shoot FMJ ammo in lanes 1 and 2? Don't most people shoot FMJ ammo primarily? I've been shooting for years and I haven't shot anything but FMJ. Also FMJ surrounds the lead core and ultimately keeps the dust down. I see this as a plus for an indoor club, no? I would hate to go shooting there and need to wait for lanes 1 or 2 if I had a typical box of FMJ with me.
Thanks. Doug |

Additionally, I have never had to wait to use lanes 1 & 2. Since you are usually there by yourself or with one or two other people most of the time, you generally don't need to wait for anything. As for lanes 1 & 2 most people shoot lead on the other 10 lanes. If you want to shoot jacketed ammunition only you probably will not have any problem with having to wait. Even if there is the uncommon person there shooting jacketed ammunition there are two lanes after all. I've never been to the club and had both lanes 1 & 2 occupied at the same time. There will be a new member orientation this coming wedsnday if you'd like to stop by and check it out send me a PM.

Thanks for the reply.
I would love to stop by and check out the place, but unfortunately I am traveling out of town for almost 3 weeks. Maybe I will hit you up one day and we can get together. Doug |
