I'm too, looking for a sponsor, but from the sound of it, it's going to be tough finding someone who will stick their neck out for anyone other than friends and family. One of the things to do is probably find someone who will invite you as a guest to shoot for them to get comfortable with your "responsibleness" for a while.

Go to public events, then you'll become a friend they'll stick their neck out for.

Instead of Public Events, take a look at the Calender of Events. Get back to me on which ones might suit you and I'll find out if they are public or not. I believe most are, such as Service Pistol, Action Pistol and NRA Highpower. Though I don't know that as a fact I can find out for you. You'll definately like using the 200yd rifle range with your 700. What distances are you shooting with it, and where?

I've been trying for over 2 years. Unless you have the time to go to the public events, which I dont, the odds are very much stacked against you.

I went through the waiting period and all but I cant join until I got a sponsor, that was 1.5yrs ago. I wish there was another way becuase frankly the LRGC is the only game in town.

What do you shoot? DCFS is a bit of a hike but you can join on any Sunday after your orientation walk through of the club, always people around willing to sign for ya.
