Default Sovereign Center

Any ideas or experience with CC to the Sovereign Center or the Sovereign Performing Arts Center (Rajah)- are they posted or any problems? I haven't CC'd in a few years to the Center and had no problem with a pocket carry. Wanding? Pat downs? issues? JUst asking for the benefit of all of us.

I've been to both for a few concerts recently and every time was patted down or wanded. More so patted down. I wouldn't recommend trying but its up to you if you do. Not sure if it's posted as I never bothered to look. Just kind of always assumed it's a big no no.

Only had a pat down going to a head banger (not my choice) show. Every other concert or football or hockey game was no problem, they just looked you over, if that.

Indeed. From Sovereign Center: FAQs:
Who owns the Sovereign Center, Sovereign Performing Arts Center and Reading Eagle Theater?

All facilities are owned by the Berks County Convention Center Authority, a municipal authority formed by the County of Berks to oversee the recently built Sovereign Center and renovated Sovereign Performing Arts Center, formally the Rajah Shrine Temple.
SMG has been chosen to manage the facilities under the Berks County Convention Center Authority.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, SMG provides facility services to over 170 venues, in 41 States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Europe, manages over nine million square feet of exhibit space and controls over 1.46 million entertainment seats worldwide. SMG manages 49 convention centers such as The Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, Reliant Center in Houston, Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and the Atlantic City Convention Center.
And guns do seem to be prohibited. From Sovereign Center: FAQs:
Are there prohibited items at the facilities?

The following items are prohibited at our facilities:
  • Guns, knives or weapons of any kind
  • Outside food and beverage
  • Laser pointers
  • Large bags or backpacks
  • Recording devices (audio or video)
  • All patrons are subject to search

So, do I write a letter and cite the statute on preemption or do we have to carry and then go through the legal process?

I've attended numerous hockey games @ the SC. not to mention the Matchbox 20 show last year. Not only was I CC'd every time i set foot into the building but i also carry a clip pocket knife on my person (like always). no pat downs tho there was very much law enforcement presence. I DID however get repremanded twice for digital camera use.
After reading the rules for the SC. i have no intentions on changing my rhythm.
Afterall, your typical convicted criminal or God forbid terrorist never concern themselves w/ a frivolous prohibition written on a door entry. Thnx anyway lawmakers, Ill Carry.
