I'm not concerned much with 9mm as it is still fairly cheap. But I would consider getting into reloading with a 7.62x39 in mind. But can you do it with this round? I thought I read some accounts of some ak47 brass expanding slightly at the neck. BS?

i've always wondered how many rounds per hour can be done. to me it would seem like such a painfully slow process with all the powder measuring and whatnot.

It depends on the reloading machine you purchase. The Dillion press can crank out ammo but the are expensive, up to 1000 dollars and more. I have the Lee Pro 1000 and I can do 200 to 250 an hour of 45acp. Rifle loads for hunting are real slow average of 15 to 25 per hour I guess. Rifle loads are scaled one at a time and the bullet seating depth is exactly were I want it not off buy a thousandth of an inch. But I am real picky about my rifle loads. You may not be able to find a progressive press for 7.62 x 39. I would check prices on different press.

Reloading for premium accuracy is a slow painstaking process.... Reloading just to save money, or just shoot more, can go very quickly, depending on the press, of course..

I reload well-made rifle ammo on a Rockchucker single stage press. Start-to-finish, including trimming, I can easily load 50 PREPARED rifle rounds in about 90 minutes. If I've, also, got to do case prep work, then, I'd say I can complete 100 rifle rounds in about 4 hours. (But, I'm slowing down on the prep work because my hands ain't as young as they used to be!) When it comes to any pistol round, I can use my Dillon XL-650 to turn out, at least, 400 decently made rounds an hour. (And I don't use an auto case feeder. I use preloaded tubes, instead!)
