Red face newbie question on ammo

I have a chance in buying some .223 ammo and have some question..or one

How safe are ammo that has once fired brass? I guess from this is that they reused the brass. Sorry, i have no clue and slowly learning all this stuff. Would like your input. the only thing this is very interesting to me is it could save some money but not sure if they would be safe or not. Trying to stock some ammo befor the price hike that everyone is talking about.

Thanks
Mike

It all likely depends on who makes it. If it's some Bubba down the street reloading in his garage, that's your call on whether or not you should trust him. If it's from a decent outfit, then it should be rather safe. You'll probably have to post more details on the ammo to get a good answer.

well Tex first off welcome to the forum!!

Remanufactured ammo has been shot by people who have never had a problem and with some people it blew up there gun. I would never buy from a person who reloads or AKA (gunshow reloads) the manufactured reloads such as ultramax etc if made by a company who has insurance. So in the case your rifle blows up that manufacturer will most likely pay for a new rifle. One main fault of reloads are squib loads which leaves a bullet stuck in your bore, next shot BOOM.

personally i dont buy remanufactored ammo

I'm getting small pieces of info from my friend who we are both buying together. this is the info so far. We are both new to this.

HSM reportedly makes some good stuff...I've shot some of their rifle rounds and they were all just fine, but I don't have extensive experience with them so YMMV.

fwiw....

I dont have the time or space to do reloads, if I did then the only reloads I would use are the ones that I did. This way if it goes bad I cant sue myself....lol

If you are looking for practice ammo I would stick with Wolf polymer coated cases.

I have used that as training/plinking in my gold cup, hi power and my RIA M4 wannabe carbine all without incident...

Cleaning is a different story

I have just read and seen too many horror stories to trust reloaded ammo. And those ultramax links scared the living poo out of me.

I have bought HSM ammo from Cabela's. They get their cases from police organisations usually. (bulk empty casing returns)
They make a good product and usually sale to police and government agencies.
