Default Best shooting factory ammo

In my guns two specific brands of hunting ammo shoots the tightest groups with the fewest fliers.

My .22s, a CZ452 American, 452 Scout [grandson] and an old Remington 541-S, all love CCI Mini-Mag hollowpoints, of bulk ammo Winchester Xpert shoot best but all bulk stuff has a lot of fliers, too many to be reliable except for cans and bottles.

Of my C-F rifles, a .30/06,.270 and .30/30 all shoot best groups with Federal Fusion and second best with Core-Lokt.

Naturally yours may be different, but I'm bored so I put in this post

I have a .30-.30 marlin. Core-Lokt is excelent. its comes in a bright green box, hard to miss. Shoots great and is very clean.

When I lived in TN I could shoot up to 150 yards in my yard and used to test bullets buy shooting into 2 water jugs backed by soaked news paper at 150 yards and in .30/30 the core-lokt always had the best expansion and just about equal penetration to other brands. Fusion shot better but not enough to be worth the bother or extra cost.

I shot both Winchester and Marlin rifles and Marlin shot about 1 1/2 inch wile Winchester usually shot about 2 inch, this was at 100 yards. Not enough differance to matter for hunting, but Marlins are easy to disassemble for cleaning.

I shoot the CCI Minimag for hunting in my .22lr scoped Savege MKII and get 2" groups at 100 yards. It also runs nearly 100% reliable in my Mosquito (semi-auto pistol)

In my .223 groundhog rig (Rossi bull barrel), the best factory ammo is UMC 50g HP. 3" groups at 300 yards. $18 per 40 rounds. Cheap and accurate! I have tried more expensive ammo, but the guun just loves the UMC.

My .30-06 (Savage 110) seems to shoot the 150 g Core-Lokts best. I can get consistent 1" groups at 100 yards.

My Remington 700T in 7MM-08 shoots the Remington Accu-Tip 140g at about the same accuracy as the Core-Lokts in the 06
