I agree
It keeps my walnut media looking new.

I use mostly LEE dies and they recommend not cleaning the cases prior to sizing / decapping in their carbide die as it can gall the die...(still not sure what that means, but sounds bad the powder residue is all the case lube I ever need with these. Just knock off any sand or grit, size / decap then clean.

I always tumble the cases (.223) prior to resizing for about 20-30 minutes in walnut media. I do this to clean off any grit that may have stuck to the case after landing on the ground. After resizing/decapping the case, I run them in the tumbler to clean off the resizing wax for another 15 minutes. I don't care how shinny the brass is or isn't. How pretty my brass is doesn't improve it's accuracy. I've never replaced my walnut media in over 2 years and thousands of rounds. I don't like the powder residue of corncob media. As for media stuck in flash holes, I rarely have this happen, I use a media separator that does a good job of dislodging all media from the brass. I always check each case, just in case, prior to priming.

A "gall" is similar to a "bur", but a gall is a long deep scratch, imagine the mark that would happen if you had stone or something similar in your bolt rifles action, and you forced the bolt in or out. A gall usually happens when dirt/etc gets caught between tight tolerances.
