Place to buy Ammunition

Hi all,

I am in Lehigh County south of Allentown. I would in Bucks near Chalfont. I have looking for a good shop to purchase ammunition, primarily 9mm and 45ACP. I have been to Target World, Dell's, and Lowe's (all in Bucks) but they don't seem to have any (at least) out on shelves. I didn't ask if they stock or order but wondered why I did see any section of ammo behind one of the counter areas, except for some 22 ammo. I would be interestred in shops in upper Buck or Southern Lehigh that have good selections.

Last time I ordered 550 rounds of .380, 200 of 7.62x54 and 20 rounds of .308.

Shipping was $20 and it arrived very quick.

Also, for some reason which escapes me, they do not require a copy of your driver's license to ship you ammo.

Dick's always has a deal, but you have to buy a case - I get one here and there when it goes on sale,

9mm, 7.98 / box per 10
45, 11.98 / box per 10

Still not a deal. My current cutoff price is $7.50/box for factory-new 9mm.
I bought a pile of Blazer 9mm at Grice a few weeks ago for $6.99/box.
Dan's Ammo has Fiocchi 9mm for $7.50/box, case price.

valley forge gun show is this weekend. Probably your best chance to find bulk ammo at a reasonable price

Natchez shooting supply has the best price on .45ACP Blazer and Wolf that I could find.

I suppose come the end of the year, you won't be buying 9mm because it will exceed your cutoff price. Perhaps you should buy all you can now.

I'm not sure why to some folks the reality of higher ammo prices has not set in their mind. I've only been urging folks to buy as much ammo as they can afford since last year. At times we must pay to play and our hobby/passion is going to cost more money compared to last year...that is the reality of the situation.

To the OP, if you live near Allentown, you should try AF Boyer hardware store. They have a wide variety of ammo for sale. Some rare ammo can be found at the store as well. I personally like to shoot the Walmart supplied CCI blazer brass. I believe a box of 50 will run you around $7.50 a box.

I paid $15.72 ($16.66 including tax) for the last box they had at Wally World yesterday (6-13-07), in the past couple months it has gone up nearly a buck a box, before taxes, (100 rd WWB 9mm) still cheaper than most online places when you add shipping to the total cost.

Which is why I said my "current cutoff price." At todays prices, I'm not going to get excited like some folks do about $8+ per box for 9mm, knowing I can still find *true* deals. And yes, I'm buying.
