I did go out and shoot the AR. I put 15 rounds in the mag and slowly fired them as I sighted it in. When the last one feed I ejected it and checked for bullet movement and there was none so I'll not be crimping for my AR either unless I observe bullet movement later.

Hello Max384
I know this is not solving your case crushing problem, but what I don't understand is why you are full length sizing new brass. I use new Remington brass for my 223 Rem's and they are perfect in size right out of the box. I have checked them in a cartridge head space gage, checked lengths, and the inside neck diameter is about .0015"-.002" less than the bullet diameter, for proper bullet tension without a crimp. Is your brass that far out of specs that it needs resizing?
regards
Ed

VanguardMOA

I always resize factory brass out of habit. These definitely needed resizing though. The necks for were very uneven. I don't think there was a single casing that had a true circular neck. There was no way I was gonna be able to successfully seat a bullet in many of them. And I don't have a neck sizer, only a FL.

A friend of mine has some Winchester brass, I going to see what his look like. Too bad they're putting out that kind of quality. Wish I could help you with your problem. I don't think it's a crimping problem. If you were crimping heavy enough to crush the case. it would show with a very deep crimp. It would be very apparent to you. JMHO
good luck, and regards
Ed

I too size new brass. I buy bulk bags of 50 or 100 rounds per bag both Win and RP. The necks get dinged up in shipping and sizing them straightens it out.
