The "M" stands for magnum. You have magnum large rifle primers. For .308 or 30-30, they are fine. I have used nothing but magnum primers in my rifle loads for years.
Here's the catch - they have a bit more power than "standard" primers, so your ACTUAL maximum powder charge may be 1-2 grains less than what the book shows. Start at minimum and work your way up - watch for danger signs along the way. Do not drop the starting load to compensate for the added power of the primer.
If you have a chronograph (something that every reloader should have, IMHO), you should be able to see the difference very quickly - the mag primers should clock a bit faster. This will make it easy to find the "new" powder charge to duplicate your current pet loads.
