Want to know something kinda sad but hilarious at the same time? I used to live in AZ and was talking to a friend that lived out here. I mentioned the jackalope.

She had never heard of it. Me, being the smartass that I am, went into this whole long story about how many people each year are killed by jackalopes. How they steal small children out of peoples yards when the adults aren't paying attention.

She asked why she never heard of jackalopes taking little kids. I told her it was a cover up and that it would hurt tourism in AZ if people outside the state found out about the jackalope problems.

It was fu**ing hilarious.

No idea if this is temporary or if they are going out of the ammo business.
The manager at the Easton/Nazareth Walmart said that Walmart wants to create a situation in which it is deemed important to get rid of the guns/ammo section.

They are turning anti-gun but can't just get rid of it when it's making them so much money.

Out of curiosity, how much are the .45 100count packs going for?
If anybody has another lead on them, I'd be willing to trade for some 9mm.

Mt Pocono has a full stock of 9mm blazer brass, and .40 blazer brass. a few odd lot rifle rounds too, but nothing for .45, and i didn't see any .223 or 7.62
still no sightings of .22LR Federal value packs which saddens me.

They have been slowly turning non-gun for some time now; witness the very few Wallys that even stock guns anymore. And neither do most department stores these days.

They're doing this for a couple reasons; it's a PITA to bother with and; to clean up their image as a blue-collar/everyman/redneck Arkansas store.

That way, they can more easily move into the territory held solid by the sandle-footed fuzzy-headed liberals that see them as the trailer-court store that destroys local mom and pop businesses and worse - uses low-payed no-benefit wage-slaves to sell guns and ammo and CHICOM shiit to the unwashed masses.

Notice that there are damn few Wallys located in your most liberal areas of the country where protestors come out en masse anytime the big-bad redneck shows up...

And notice also the "gun section" of Target stores? If there was THAT much money to be had in selling ammo and gun-stuff, Tar-jay would sell it.

Meijers only sells it as they are a predominately mid-west franchise.

I get shit from some people from time to time about the occasional (they think that it's incessant) excursions to Wal*Marts, but this afternoon's trip to the range (another new-to-me piece of which to verify function and accuracy) was simply proof positive that I'm not a silly git for buying ammo when I see it.

Would you believe that they were asking for (and getting) $46 a 50 rd. box for .45 ACP range ammo? FFS, people, it's brass, gunpowder, a cheap jacketed projectile and a primer. It isn't like you're shopping for it at Tiffany's! Now, granted, when I price it out online I see this particular brand selling for around 80 to 83¢ a round, but you have to figure that a lot of these large distributors are also extending an FFL discount to the shops.

So is it any wonder that I grab WWB at 31¢ a round pretty much whenever I can?

Can't blame you at all. I actually bought 5 100 count boxes of Winchester 45 ACP this morning at $29.97 a box (and I don't own a 45 ... yet).

We then went to the Wind Gap gun show only to see 45 anywhere from $25 - $35 a box (50 count).
