This may not be a cheap alternative, but i does get the job done faster in terms of case prep. ie. primer pocket cleaning

For cleaning primer pockets I use a Sinclair primer pocket uniformer and chuck it in a variable speed cordless drill motor.

Talking Re: Reloading Equipment - Good ones you own, and the Not so good...

I'm just as lazy as everyone else..so if you have a great idea and/or product..how bout a great link to a great price and a supplier that actually has it in stock...now I..(opps) we can just start buying the stuff we didn't know about. Thanks-ahead-Ned! I love the internet!!!!!!

Mike how bout a review of that item? I'm kindof a RBCS fan but don't wanna go nuts just to clean primer pockets.

No idea really, i never used one i just threw it out there as a alternative. I use a Lyman Power Trimmer (case trimmer) that has a pocket brush on the other end of the motor. It gets the job done, but i reload very large volumes of pistol ammo, hence the need for a power trimmer.

Cool Re: Reloading Equipment - Good ones you own, and the Not so good...

Well, The comments on the lee dies was based on a few things firstly, the finish on the dies is not AS good as others, secondly the seat length and other settings tend to drift whereas other dies are locked in place(my 30-30dies havn't moved in 20yrs), concentricity of the external threads and the inner die surfaces had some to be desired(one set scootches the case head part way out of the shell holder and then if the shell holder isn't rotated to engage better it tears the rim partly off the case) I do buy the lee dies especially if its an odd caliber. rcbs dies for a 6.5x50jap are 120$ if I recall correctly and the lee is 24$? Big difference and I'm not really blastin with a type II jap. The other minor complaint I posted was the seater on hornady pistol dies. If you load lead bullets the solid bullet lube tends to foul the sliding seater plug and then messes with the seat and crimp depths. Its not a BIG deal but it can be aggrivating at times. Also if it doesn't interfere with the slider it sorta rains little flakes of lube on the press like wolf ammo primer laquer.

Again, please let me stipulate that these are only my observations and opinions.

There are several primer pocket cleaners and uniformers as well as flash hole cleaners & deburring tools, many of them can be chucked into a drill. The Lee primer pocket cleaner works well in a drill. It's about the least expensive you'll find. It's just a pocket cleaner, not a uniformer. Those that thread into a handle, like the RCBS can be chucked into a drill too, but be careful to not damage the threads if you think you may want to use them with their handle again.
To deburr the flash hole (inside the case), the Lyman tool is great. It amounts to a long center drill, (common lathe tool), with a handle and a cone shaped guide to fit all case mouths. I use a 4" #2 center drill with no handle or guide for .224" case mouths. It's a nice fit in everything from .22 Hornet to .22-250, kinda loose fit in 6mm and bigger, but a makeshift guide cone can be made from the tip of a ballpoint pen.
No problem chucking that tool into a drill.
When using a hand tool in a drill, low speed is best! The slower the better. With some tools you can do damage quickly with too much speed. (You shouldn't have to ask me how I know that).
MidwayUSA has a decent selection with pictures. You should be able to get most anything you see there at your local gun shop without paying a hefty shipping and handling charge.

Cool, now you can reload for me! LOL
Seriously though, any chance you can give me a tutorial? I'm thinking about getting into reloading, starting with ammo for my K31, and eventually .223, 9mm and .308.
I shot 22 rnds of Prvi 7.5 Swiss at Scotia today and I saved the brass.
