Default Magnum Pistol vs Standard Pistol Primers

Not long ago I ordered a large batch of Small Pistol Primers and shortly after submitting the order was called by a sales rep and told that they weren't available and would have to go on backorder. So after mulling it over for a while I contacted the company and asked that they substitute Small Pistol Match Primers and I would pay the additional cost. Now it appears that the company has shipped Small Pistol MAGNUM primers to me (at least that's what's on the invoice, I won't receive the shipment until 22 Dec).

Where can I find load data for .38 Special using SP magnum primers?

There probably isn't any. That's not a magnum caliber, and therefore does not use magnum primers. When you get them, call the company and tell them they sent you the wrong thing.

By the way, why on earth do people buy primers online? I'll never understand paying the Hazmat shipping fee.

That sucks that you don't have a decent shop locally. I have quite a few that are very willing to hook me up on large primer purchases.

Just use them and load a .1 gr. light. If you load mid range you will never know the difference. It's when you load hot that you could have trouble. I've used magnum primers a lot and never had trouble.

The gun shops in this general area are all small, part-time operations and even though I have very good relations with the owners, they have trouble getting what they need to run their businesses, much less what I want. Besides, if they special order something in for me, I still have to pay the shipping costs. Plus I refuse to buy from Gander Mountain in Johnson City, NY.
