Default 30-06 150 gr load?

theres so many powders for 30-06 I was just wondering what you guys have luck with, I have some 150 gr BT-FMJ bullets here and some 150 gr hornady SST's, I have varget, H4831SC, IMR4895, IMR4064, BL-C(2) there all listed in there, so whats your pick. Im shooting it out of a Browning A-Bolt 1-10 twist 22 inch barrel.

I concur with stevewag.
IMR4895 is a good powder for this bullet.
Only difference is IMR recomends 49.5 as max on the 150 grainers, at 50,000psi.
I load 49.0. Works great.
A nice shooting, clean powder.

I don't use the powders you listed but do shoot 150gr nosler ballistic tips with 57.5gr of 4350. This is downloaded by a grain and a half off max and pulls my groups in to about 1 1/4".

The deer don't know the difference between that and a full 59 grain load.

I never experimented too much with other powders as I was hitting deer very regularly with the powder I started with. works for me.

later,

27hand

I would submit that IMR4895 is a classic 30-06 powder. I think it was once used by the military.

My rifle likes R-15

I use 47.0gr of IMR-4895 with 150gr FMJ bullets for loads that I shoot out of my 1903A3 and M1 Garand. Very accurate.
