I shoot tons of UMC 9mm and like it a lot. As far as dirtiness...I mostly shoot my G19 and it could care less one way or another. It only gets cleaned when I'm very bored and jacked up on coffee. I don't think how dirty a cartridge is should matter in a combat 9mm like the Glock, Beretta or Sig. If it does, I would be worried about the gun. MC refers to metallic cased which is the same as FMJ, in other words, its not just plain lead. I've never had a single malfunction shooting several K of UMC and WWB.

Default UMC opinions shared...

I stopped using the UMC because of how dirty it is. My hands were covered in brass by the end of a session. Now that I go to Classic Pistol I use their "house brand", I forget off hand what it is but it is clean and not expensive at 8 dollars a box.

i shoot rem UMC 9mm through my glock 17. both it and WWB are dirty. doesn't bother the glock at all, though. they end up costing about the same per round...haven't found any factory ammo cheaper.

i get a bit tighter groups with the rem UMC than with WWB, but who knows why. (prolly just psychological or something...)

i get it for $31.50 per 250 (yellow box). (from sportsmen's warehouse.)

MC stands for "metal cased". it's just a different name for FMJ.

i use magtech +p JHP for my carry ammo.

btw, if your gun can't take dirty ammo, sell it and get a glock

ain't that the truth...

and their even all nice about it, too.

"hi, how ya doing today? good to see you again."

(then, in the background..after they think i'm out of earshot..."bwaaahaaaahaaaa...hey joe, get a bank deposit slip ready.")

and, of course, they put their 9mm ammo right next to all those ARs, shotguns, etc...it's all a plot to get me to spend a thousand bucks in one visit, i tell ya.

They dont even card me anymore.. infact, one new woman was bieng trained by another employee.. I showed up with some reloading supplies and she said "Now I dont need to card him, because I know him."

Pretty soon itll be "I dont need to card him, because he has a charge account here". Pretty soon ill have a Sportsmans warehouse quick-pass.

God those AR's are nice. ('Here he comes! bring out the AR's')
