Midway has a sale going on the web right now for .308. I forget what the price is but I thought it sounded pretty viable.

Yes. Stay away from Indian ammo.

There was a site that compiled alot of ammo prices. I have it saved at home (i think). I'll check it out when I get home....
Most places are running out of SA .308. AIM has been out for awhile.... Thats where I got my last batch 980 for 189.99 I think..... |

I beg to differ. There are horror stories about the last batch of Indian Surplus to hit the US but this batch currently on the market has been OK in my stuff (first hand experience). A friend bought a bunch from Wideners for $5.50 per 20 rd bx and we shot a few hundred rounds this weekend. All went bang and though the accuracy was slightly behind the South African and pretty far behind the Santa Barbera we compared it to it was still decent stuff. At 300 yds the Santa Barbra laid down approx. 3.5" groups, the SA approx 5" groups while the Indian printed approx 7-8" groups. I have a line on a limited supply of Santa Barbera .308 surplus if anyone is interested in it, it's very well regarded among surplus .308 and I can get it for $7 per 20rd box if anyone wants some. I love the stuff (and so does my DPMS .308) and already have a decent stash for myself!

Indian OFV .308 is not all junk.
I bought about 1K ( It was from Ammunitionstore). It is on 5 rd stripper clips, 147 gr 70's prod. It shoots every time . I shot about 200 rounds and have not had a single problem. It was sold as brass cased reloadable if I remember correctly and shot well out of my Spanish FR-8 and my Ishy. I'll try to see what year of mfg it was. 27hand
