Favorite .223/5.56 load

I have a couple hundred rds loaded up with that same load. I haven't been able to find tac anymore either but I did like it. I have been using cfe223 recently.

Bought a pound of the CFE, just not up to loading anything lately.

New favorite load for me...didn't get the chance to clock it as it was dark and pouring down rain when I was testing a variety of loads. 100 yards bench with 10x SWFA SS

Bushmaster DCM 20" bbl 1X8" twist
Case: LC '08
Primer: WLR
Powder: AA 2460 24.2 grains
Bullet: Hornady # 2249 52 grain HPBT
COL 2.210" (.005"-.010" from the lands)

I noticed with these lighter bullets and fast(er) twist barrels that as you start to push velocity groups seem to open up. IOW, after about 25.0 grains in the above combination groups hovered around an inch and never better. Once I dropped the charges groups shrank considerably.

FYI, cabelas had H335 in stock yesterday. It was a mad house, though. The check out line ran all the way back past the coy ponds to the archery section.
