Default Single Stage Presses & Kit for 300 WBY MAG will this work?

I have the dies (RCBS #15201 Group A) and I know I need powder, brass and bullets, but what else do I need? Does this kit below come with the cap things on the press to hold the cases? That thing that the shell slides into (holder)? My dad has a lee kit and his came with a box of these shell guides. I do not see any in this picture.

Also, is this a kit that last a person a life time?

Thumbs up Re: Single Stage Presses & Kit for 300 WBY MAG will this work?

Ok, my die set says use shell holder #4.

So I got that figured out. What I need to know now is this kit worth $249.99 and is there anything else I might need? I have my dads lee guide along with the the guide that would come with this kit if I were to buy it.

I would also like to know what are the things not to do when reloading. I don't want to mess my gun up or cause harm to myself or anyone else.

I am also wanting to reload 30/30 shells for my son's lever action Marlin. I have 200 empty brass cases for this gun I would like to load up.

Son's gun:

Thanks for the help!

The best advice I could give is to start loading with the minumum powder charge and work your way up from there. If you start to see any signs of high pressure like primers backing out or your bolt handle getting hard to lift, stop. Go back down to the load where there were no pressure signs and go no further. You shouldn't have a problem as long as you stay within the powder charge range in the manual.

From what I've heard, RCBS makes good stuff and the press should last you a lifetime. I've never used one personally though.

The other thing you need is a good set of calipers for measuring case length and overall cartidge length. A simple set of dial calipers will work and are relatively inexpensive, about $50, maybe less. The digital calipers are nice but will cost you more.

The shell holders are interchangable and your dad's Lee shell holders will work on the RCBS press. You can also use different dies in various presses. Most of those items have the same specs. I use Redding dies on my RCBS single stage press. I also have a Hornady Lock N Load AP press that I will be using my Redding dies to load. I like the LNL because you can buy bushings for any dies and it makes changing dies for different calibers a breeze.

Here is a good site for reloaders.
