Default Cheap 7.62X25

AIMSurplus has 7.62X25 Bulgarian 1950'sSurplus for what I consider to be a good price.
800 rd. can for $59.95 plus shipping.
At 10:30 AM, 2/20/2008 I was told that it looks like they have about 75 cans.
I'm thing that it'll sell out pretty fast.

Old surplus ammo is always risky. I've had good luck and bad. Enough bad to not ever buy any again. It really depends on the ammo quality to begin with and how it was stored since it was made. Good luck. I'm getting rid of some high quality Norinco steel core 85 grain ammo if you are interested. Not nearly as cheap as that ammo, but guaranteed to go bang. Hard to find Norinco ammo anymore either since they don't import it.

You've piqued my curiosity.
What kind of bad luck have you had with surplus ammo?
No bang when there should be bang, too much bang/KABOOM when there should be bang, or something else.
Any country/manufacturer in particular, or all in general.
I would think that surplus ammo was originally manufactured for military/police use, therefore should be reasonably reliable and consistent, especially when used in military/police guns that it was intended for, and if stored in sealed cans it should be OK.

Just for curiosity, what's your asking price on the Norinco?

The only bad surplus I had was Ecuadorian 8mm, and I think I just got a bad batch. That 7.62x25 they have for sale is supposed to be good stuff, unless it is the machine gun stuff. That stuff has been aroun for awhile so AIM would alert customers to that, I believe. For 60 bucks it is worth it!

Well, it was years ago and it was 7.62X25 ammo. Fortunately I didn't buy more than a box or two. Still have the remainder of one box I think. Bad primers. Pull trigger-nothing. Cock hammer and pull trigger again--bang. Sometimes it would take multiple strikes. Sometimes even then, nothing. Good for practicing if you have a flinch, but I don't, so they are just crap to me. I'll check the box to see what they are when I get home. I've had some 9mm that was the same way. That was given to me, so no big loss.

I'll sell them for $9 per box of 50. I think I have 4-5 boxes worth, plus a couple hundred loose. I threw out some of the boxes so I could fit them into an ammo box. I'll check this later and get back to you if you are interested. I'm also selling my CZ-52 if you might be interested in that as well. It has a nice, stainless, Federal barrel on it. I have the old one too, plus a spare firing pin and a set of extra rollers.

...
I bought 5k+ of 7.62x25 decades ago that's loaded HOT, but not overloaded. It cracked one TT-33 ejector, so now I buy a spare ejector ahead of time and blast away with the spare ejector in place. If it breaks, I toss it & get another for $5 and I still have the original.

I recall this was Polish or Eastern European in 70 rd boxes (funny, that's the exact magazine capacity of a PPSh SMG).

Norinco 7.62x25 was much easier on the TT-33.

Tell ya what, I'll lower my price of the Norinco I have for anyone who can pick it up. Too lazy to ship. $7/50
It will be "loose rounds", but I will prove that it's real Norinco by comparing it to boxed Norinco to any skeptical folks like me. I probably have 4-500 rounds I'm willing to sell. It's the weekend, so please be patient for a response.
