it is a 357 magnum... but its not a wadcutter.... what is it.. i just got a case of em

It looks like one of the original Scorpion Hydroshocks, from before Federal bought the rights to it.

If its not an old school hydrashock then its a 38 wadcutter but loaded with the base pointed up.

Old trick to get better performance out of the old wadcutter load.

Next old school trick is to load up some 200 grain rnl's and bring up the velocity a touch....should be some info on that load in any reloading book.

I have some of those in .38. It is the old Scorpion Hydrashock from the seventies.
