Default Great Deal on Ammo

I was yakking with this guy at work about guns, and when I told him I had a .45 he said he knew a woman who was selling ammo for it. I called her and she had 23 boxes left and wanted to unload all of it ASAP. She was selling for $8 a box. It was all her ex-husbands and he left it when he ran out on her. I offered her $5 a box and I'd buy the rest. So I got all 23 boxes for $115. Check it out. By the way, I unloaded 3 boxes of the winchesters at the range this afternoon. That was fun. I cant crop the pics enough to fit, I did them individually. I got 6 boxes of the MagTechs, 7 boxes of the winchesters, and 10 boxes of the Lake city rounds. Thats 1150 rds. Building up my stock.

Love the XD. The recoil is a bit much, but love the 45 either way. I guess I should have gotten the ported 5" instead of the 4". But I like the balance of the 4" Just feels better.

I am on the fence about MAGTECH ammo. Its cheap, but I'm not sure what company makes it... I'm almost positive its not an American company.

I paid $14 for 50 .357 158gr at cabellas.... not bad. Thier .38 cal are $9 for 50.

A ported 5" is not only going to be tough to carry, but it's going to be VERY loud. I had an EAA pistol that was ported and I only shot it once without hearing protection...I couldn't hear correctly for a week. Ported weapons are not to be used without hearing protection, IMO.

That is a great deal on the ammo...you should find out what else she's willing to sell of her ex's...haha

As far as Magtech...it's a Brazilian company...it's very dirty compared to other ammo...I'm not impressed with it...I shot it and debris was hitting my face.

Outstanding find. I've seen a lot of good stuff go cheap in divorce sales.

It's been a long time since I've bought any .38. Is $9 a box the going rate now?
