Default cleaning bullet casings

Does anyone know of a homemade solution to clean spent brass? I was reading a book on reloading and they mentioned a solution or an actual cleaning device. I only have a few shells to clean and I dont know if I could justify buying a solution if I could make one for free.

I assume you mean a liquid cleaning solution? Try 3 cups water, 3-4 tbl spoons of lemon juice and a tbl spoon of Dawn dish soap. Let cases soak (while stirring occasionaly) for an hour or two.

My father would clean his cases that way and dry them in the oven at a low temp for an hour or two.

I don't have a tumbler, so I just soak my brass in a solution of water and OJ (I guess any citrus juice would work) for a couple of days, and then wash them in my washing machine in a pair of old socks. Works pretty good!

If your wife knew she would probably force Santa to bring you a tumbler!

Welcome to PFOA Lee!
