Default 7.62x54R, Data Needed

I don't have a Sierra Reloading Manual, maybe someone here does?

I'm looking to Load some 7.62x54Rs using the Sierra .311 174gr BTHP Match King. In need of Data for backing them with either IMR4895 or IMR4064. COL also!
"thank you"

You can use the data for the 180gr bullet, but I would increase the 180 minimum charge by 2% (minimum*1.02), and start there.

As usual, as you work your way up, watch for high pressure signs. I don't know that you'll gain much by going over the 180 maximum. The 180 maximum is probably only a hair lower then what the 174 maximum would be, but still be careful as you approach it.

--- what's going on in my mind ---
The reason I would start at minimum +2% is because the 174gr bullet will take up less case volume (as small as it may be) than the 180gr bullet. If the powder charge is too low, you could end up into secondary explosion effect territory - which could end very badly for the gun and/or the shooter. The +2% is still within the charge range listed.

What are you loading for? If it's for a Mosin, I would recommend slugging your bore 1st since you are going for accuracy. 7.62x54R is supposed to be .311 but most Mosin bores are .312-.314 I have slugged my Mosin sniper at .314 You may have to use a British .303 (.312) bullet

Loading for a Mosin-Nagant M44 (Polish & Hungarian) both manufactured in the early 50s.

As wizzegun stated the actual bore diameter can vary quite a bit on rifles for this cartridge. Most M44's are in the .311-.312 range.

The Sierra manual does not list the .311 174 Gr. Match King, it only list .308 bullets for the 7.62 Russian. Here is the load data from the Sierra manual for the .308 175 Gr. HPBT Match King in a 7.62 Russian.

IMR-4064 40.4 Gr to 47.1 Gr
IMR 4895 39.8 Gr to 44.3 Gr

174 is military, slug the bore to see what you need.
180 is the best commercial size.
