Default Sellier & Bellot customer service

Back in March or April I bought a box of Sellier & Bellot .357 magnum ammo.
There was 1 or 2 rounds that had manufacturing defects and I sent them an email about it.

After a few days, I got a reply from a rep wanting to know more info about the ammo, like a lot #, etc. I sent him all the info I could and then I didn't hear from him again.

About a week ago I got an email from Troy Duerr, Director of Operations from MagTech Ammunition asking me for my address so he can send me a box of ammo for my trouble.

Apparently MagTech and Sellier & Bellot are affiliated somehow. I did not know this.

Anyway, I come home from work today and there is a package from MagTech with a brand new box of Sellier & Bellot .357 ammo.

that is also the same ammo that the casing broke off in my sks right at the bottle neck and got lodged in the chamber. Had to take it to a gunsmith to be removed.

I've never had any issue with Sellier & Bellot. I've used their ammo in my 8mm my Mosin Nagant and my 12 ga. Always worked for me.

S&B has always worked for me. I've used a lot of 7.62X25, 9MM, .40S&W, .38 Spl and .357. Never had any trouble.

Ditto, used a lot of S&B and no problems.

That's funny. While I have never used either brand, all the scuttlebutt I've heard was about how crappy S&B is and how great MagTech is. So which is it - the ammo made in a former Eastern Bloc country or the South American stuff made on all-new, state-of-the-art loading equipment (according to the gun rags)?

I have a feeling this is going to be a big YMMV thread.

Another S&B fan here. I've shot thousands of rounds of their 9mm and .357Sig with no problems.

Well my experiences with both brands is minimal. I've shot .45acp magtech out of my friends ruger p series gun, and it was about as accurate as target ammo needs to be. However when I was researching self defense ammo, the magtech hollow points ranked out at the bottom, then fell through the floor. I don't think a magtech hollow point could pass through a pillow without seperating, fragmenting, then disintigrating. I feel bad for the people who carry this shit as self defense ammo because they found it at walmart and it's cheap. It's cheap for a reason..

Sellier & Bellot, never shot it. Every time I see it mentioned on a forum people usually have negative comments about it. I'd like to note that I always see S&B on sale, for dirt cheap. Wonder why?
