Default Ammo recon - W-Mart Prices for most calibers

THESE are OLD prices... for more current prices, go to last page

Maybe someone will find this helpful when comparison shopping.

These prices are from tonight's(OCTOBER) trip to W-Mart: (More current prices further along...)
All prices are for FMJ. I didn't write down all the brands, just the lowest priced ones. (For the 100 rd "value packs" I've included what that breaks down to if you wanted to compare to the 50 rd box prices... as you can see, the 100 rd. packs save you money.) All prices before tax.

.32 Rem/UMC $15.73/50rds.

.380 Winchester White Box (WWB) $25.67/100rds. (divided in half=$12.84/50)

ETA: Dick's 1/2 OFF Coupon sale yielded this price for .380... .380 UMC $12.98/50rds. Sale Price (Reg. $13.99-that would be $25.96/100rds. w/o coupon... about the same as W-Mart)
BUT, with the 1/2 OFF Coupon, the 2nd box is $6.49 which translates to $19.47 for 100rds.
($6.20 LESS than W-Mart's price per 100!)

9mm WWB $15.72/100rds. (divided in half=$7.86/50)
9mm UMC $19.76/100rds.
(divided in half=$9.88/50)
9mm WWB $8.62/50rds.

.40S&W
WWB $21.88
/100rds.(divided in half=$10.94/50)
.40S&W UMC $26.88/100rds. (divided in half=$13.44/50)
.40S&W WWB $13.47/50rds.
.40S&W Blazer $9.97/50rds.

.45ACP
WWB $28.98/100rds.(divided in half=$14.49/50)
.45ACP Blazer $11.97/50rds.

I gotta go to Dick's tomorrow, to see if the Buy 1 get 1 half off price is better...

Nice break down. It's good to see that walmart didn't raise their prices yet. I think Dick's is still having their case price sale for 40/45 and 9mm through november.

Case Price:
9MM
$6.98 * 2 = $13.96

Half Off Deal
Or $8.98 + $4.49 = $13.47

I forget what the 45/40 cost is but I just paid 11.98 for the case price at dick's so I would think that it's $13.98

Case Price
45ACP
$11.98 * 2 = $23.96

Half Of Price
$13.98+$6.99 = $20.97 for a hundred

OK, I went to Dick's on my lunch and picked up some .380 ammo.
(they don't carry .32)

I edited my post above to show the savings that can be had for .380 by using the 1/2 OFF coupon vs W-Mart prices.

Sorry, I didn't have time to write down the other ammo prices from Dick's.

You normally have to buy by the case to see these prices!
If you can't afford to buy ammo by the case, USE THE Dick's 1/2 OFF COUPON! It works out about the same, if not a tad better than the CASE price.

Go! Go! Go! Coupon expires on 10/13/07

Don't have a coupon? ssom003 has a link here:
http://www.pafoa.org/forum/general-2/10338-dicks-sporting-goods-ammo-coupon.html

Print it out. I used mine today and kept the one from the Sunday paper in hopes of convincing my wife to go back tomorrow!

There's also a separate rebate from Remington on 12ga 00 buckshot (and some 12ga slugs, if I recall correctly)--I got six boxes, and with the coupon they were $19.02 with tax. The rebate is for $6, so with the cost of a stamp the overall cost goes to $13.44. That's less than 45 cents per round (which from what I can tell is pretty good).

Unfortunately, Dick's doesn't carry Federal Power-Shok, so we can't combine those two deals (Power-Shok is buy one, get $5 back in the mail, two box maximum). That'd be the cheap way to get rifle ammo, that's for sure.

Where do you find the rebate offer for Federal Power-Shock?
That's already affordable ammo, $5.00 off is enough to get me to buy a few extra boxes.

I answered my own question.
I found the rebate offer on their web site, here it is:
http://www.federalpremium.com/default.asp?menu=1&s1=14

I was in W-mart tonight... Thought I'd write some prices down for those who like to compare. (Jan 12, 2008)

9mm UMC $20.76/100rds.
(divided in half=$10.38/50)
9mm WWB $8.62/50rds.

.40S&W
WWB $21.88
/100rds.(divided in half=$10.94/50)
.40S&W UMC $????/100rds. (divided in half=$????/50)
.40S&W WWB $13.47/50rds.
