I don't know about home invasion rings, but I do know quite a few people who walked in the front door of the police department looking perfectly healthy and walked or were gurneyed out the back after having mysteriously used their faces to beat up on some officers black jack. I don't think that they are as bad as they once were, but I would never stop my car when being pulled over unless we were in a well lit area. They were not all bad, it is just that the one or two or five that were made all of the rest look bad and whenever you complained you ran into the blue brotherhood issue. I was never personally assaulted, but I did witness a few who were. Then again I turn into a perfect gentleman when someone is in my face with a gun.
