If that is what you're shopping first...then don't get a Kimber.

I'm sure people will chime in with how great their Kimber is, but I've sent more back than I can remember, and watched them choke over, and over, and over.

Take a look at m1911.org's Kimber forum....the first page is almost always dedicated to threads about Kimbers not running.

Honestly, if you want a 1911 that is worth trusting your life to... I would suggest reading up on 10-8forums, and m4c...where users who carry 1911's into harms way share their experience. You'll see the SA MC Operator, SA Professional, and WC CQB as popular choices amongst discerning shooters. The SA Loaded is often a good starting point, if you feel the MC Operator is too steep.


Keep in mind, you see all kinds of people raving about their Taurus's and Kel-Tec's, at times. My advice? Research your options thoroughly.
