Not so big when you put them next to a 16" ar with stock . I thought they were stupid too, until I got one.

And if you put a stock on it it would be an SBR, an NFA item. It's more fun without the stock.

Anyway, Olympic has a decent (I use decent loosely) AR pistol, as does Kel Tec.
