This week I was working in Indianapolis IN. and on the drive home decided to stop at Ace Sporting Goods in Washington Pa. to say hello to George the owner. A funny thing happened and this followed me home.

Yesterday, I picked up a new stripped S&W M&P 15 lower that xringshooter did the transfer for me. When I got home I couldn't wait to start my new build so I installed the LPK and a temp stock.

Added a mil-spec M4 stock and a DPMS National Match upper

I figured with all the other S&W's I have that I need to add the M&P 15 to the collection. I still have to clean off the Weapon Shield from assembly of the LPK. I also used the LPK installation kit I got off AR15.com to install the LPK with the take down pin modification. I'm quite happy with the kit.

Took the Mossberg 100 ATR to PMSC on 6 June 2009. Wanted to get it broken in. I had already did the 20 singles with cleaning in between at home and kind of roughed in the scope at the home range. Started with my strings of 5 with cleaning in between each string, (I'm shooting South African surplus as they are a hot 7.62x51 NATO round). As I get half way through the 2nd string I go to eject the spent round and the bolt wont open. I end up running a cleaning rod through and tapping on it to open. Once I get it cleared I was inspecting the bolt and discovered the extractor was broken.

The Mossberg rifles have an odd extractor. It consists of a spring, detent ball, and the extractor that is held in the slots with the detent ball under spring tension.

I emailed Mossberg Monday 8 June 2009 in the AM and got a reply back the same day that they were sending a replacement extractor assy to me. 12 June 2009 received in the mail a large hand addressed envelope in the mail from Maverick Arms Eagle Pass Tx. containing a 2009 Mossberg gun annual and in the center was a small envelope containing a nice new replacement extractor.
It took me all of 5 minutes to replace the broken one.
Now I can get back to lapping in the barrel

I just finished up another AR
36" Bohica .50BMG upper on an Anvil Arms Lower
I was going to put this on my S&W M&P15 lower, but I decided to use one of my new spare Anvil Arms lowers
The lower is a new Anvil Arms AA-15 with an A2 stock, Rock River 2 stage trigger
I'm looking at a couple of different optics packages, Night Force 8-32 x 56 NXS, ATN 12-36X80, maybe a U.S. Optics
Now I need to order a butt stock weight to ballance the rifle out.
Total weight of this rifle should come in around 34 lbs.

I updated the post with the new goodies I put on the S&W M&P15
