That's tough to say. It sounds like the way the scenario took place with multiple shooters, the average responsible gun owner would not have had a good chance to stop what happened single handedly (unless of course it was the movies
). I really don't think the average gun owner has enough training to tactically neutralize multiple shooters in the scenario described (I know I don't). It sounds like this was a planned "hit" and the shooters had a great advantage.
That's not saying that if the attack happened against me or my family, I wouldn't respond to try to save us.
I agree with MichaelJ, make sure you and yours survive.
