there was actually a great article I read on the two. It involved how the met two or 3times later in life, one of the topics that was discussed was this issue. They both sort of agreed they can't hold themselves responsible for what countries and other people do. I wish I could remember what magazine it was from, it also covered how Kalashnikov visited stoner's grave shortly after stoner had died.
