Default Re: How long for your pistol order to come in?

On a firearm that's been in production for a long while and are common the gun shop can call various distributors and should have it in his shop in two or three working days.

If it's something that's new, custom shop, or performance center be prepared to wait till the production catches up with demand, or the factory works out the bugs in the production.

I could post several examples of long waits but the one I like to use is when SIG first announced it was coming out with a P229 (new model at that time) chambered in the .357 SIG caliber I wanted to be the first kid on my block with one. The order took 6 months for the gun...Then came a 3 to 5 month wait until Federal ammunition was on the dealers shelf (only ammo available). Luckily, I was able to get dies and shell holder for Hornady and worked up loads for this firearm while waiting for Federal.
